Maintenance Gardener required
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a gardener to work for an established company in the Reading area, Berkshire. The company has been in business for over 26 years and offers a range of services, primarily to domestic clients.
The ideal candidate will hold a good level of gardening experience, have good plant knowledge, experience with a range of grounds maintenance equipment and will be used to working with common garden plants and features. The role will primarily involve acting as a mobile gardener, working under and alongside the existing small team of likeminded employees.
You must be conscientious, well presented, able to work under your own initiative and have a positive attitude when it comes to working with your colleagues, and of course for the company’s loyal client base. A good sense of humour is always important. You must have experience with hedge cutting, lawn maintenance, pruning, planting, bed/border management and be willing to undertake other gardening maintenance tasks as they arise. A spray certificate (PA1/PA6) is beneficial but not essential. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
The standard working week will consist of 44 hours with any overtime paid at time and a half. An hourly rate of £10.25 is offered to the successful candidate until successful completion of a three month probation period, after which the rate will increase to £10.60/hr, equating to an annual salary of £24,252.
