🌳The garden consists of herbaceous borders, kitchen garden, parterre, shrub borders, topiary and a wildflower meadow. It is ever evolving with renovation projects playing a substantial part of the annual plans.🌷🪻

The Skilled Gardener will work closely with the Senior Gardener, a grounds person and a team of volunteers.🥕

🪴Regular Lecture Days with prominent horticulturist including such as Andy Sturgeon, Tom Stuart-Smith, Chris Beardshaw & Arthur Parkinson. This is a great opportunity to interact with these highly knowledgeable individuals.

🌿Annual team outings to visit other gardens for inspiration.

Further education to enhance the gardener’s knowledge is encouraged and supported

Qualifications needed:
✨Entry Level qualifications such as RHS level 1 or 2.
🌱Good knowledge of seasonal horticultural practices such as maintaining herbaceous borders, pruning techniques including topiary, plant propagational skills and mowing.
🥬Competent with operating a wide range of machinery and a spray certificate (PA1/PA6) is desirable.
🫛Good at working on your own or as part of a team.
Must be physically fit to undertake outdoor work in various weather conditions.📣

🌿This role offers the chance to work hands-on, where your expertise will directly contribute to the success and beauty of the estate. There is also the opportunity to live on-site for the right candidate, providing a true estate-living experience.

Key Responsibilities:

🥕Take full responsibility for the 3-acre vegetable garden, inc. soil prep & bed creation, planting, crop rotation & harvest.
Manage general estate gardening duties, including planting, pruning, hedge maintenance, and seasonal displays. 🌱
🪴Maintain herbaceous borders, fruit bushes, soft fruit, and ornamental plantings across the property.
Prepare and apply compost, mulch, and organic soil amendments to promote healthy, productive plants.🥬
🍃Maintain lawns to a high standard, including mowing, edging, feeding, aeration, and seasonal treatments.
Work alongside the estate team to ensure the gardens and grounds are consistently presented to the highest standards.
