An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced, practical and highly trustworthy individual to take on a varied and rewarding role within a private country estate in Market Drayton, Staffordshire.

The Role

Gardening: General care and upkeep of the lawns, borders, hedges, shrubs and planting areas, along with routine mowing, pruning, weeding and seasonal work.

Estate & Property: Taking pride in maintaining the grounds and property to a high standard, carrying out practical upkeep, supporting estate security, and liaising with contractors, suppliers and visitors to ensure the estate is well presented and runs smoothly.

Personal Assistance: Working directly with the estate owner, assisting with appointments, deliveries and day-to-day estate matters. Keeping the owner informed of any maintenance, security or estate management issues and helping ensure matters are dealt with promptly.

The Ideal Candidate

• Strong practical horticultural and gardening experience.
• Experience with garden machinery, tools and equipment.
• A genuine, proactive interest in maintaining gardens and grounds to a high standard.
• A practical, hands-on approach to property maintenance and problem-solving.
• The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and use initiative.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Good communication skills and a professional manner.
• A discreet, trustworthy and dependable approach.

Driving: Full UK driving licence essential.

Proposed Working Pattern: Full time – 5 days – 40 hours per week.

Live-in Accommodation: Self-contained 1-bedroom lodge accommodation (separate to the main house) is provided as part of the role and is directly linked to the employment.

Additional Opportunity:

There may also be a separate, paid part-time housekeeping opportunity for a spouse, partner or family member, approximately two days per week, covering cleaning, housekeeping and maintaining the presentation of the Hall and associated areas to a high standard.
