A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and skilled gardener to join a small, friendly team on a Cotswold estate near Stow-on-the-Wold.

This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with proven practical gardening experience and good plant knowledge.

The garden features a wonderful combination of formal and informal areas, including a kitchen garden and cutting garden, large Alitex greenhouses, an orchard, wildflower and spring bulb meadows, hedges and topiary, mixed borders, and pots and containers for seasonal displays.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Head Gardener and colleagues to maintain the garden to the highest standards, with precision and attention to detail.
• Help maintain the kitchen garden, cutting garden, fruit trees and glasshouses, including soil preparation, propagation, watering and seasonal harvesting.
• Maintain all garden areas to consistently high standards.
• Monitor plant health, irrigation and pests, applying appropriate control methods where necessary.
• Prune and train climbers and wall shrubs.
• Use all machinery, tools and equipment safely.

Essential Requirements

• Proven practical gardening experience and good plant knowledge.
• A minimum Level 2 qualification in Horticulture.
• A full, valid driving licence, due to the rural location.
• Good physical fitness, given the practical nature of the role.
• Full time Monday-Friday
• Occasional weekend Duty

Part-time working arrangements may also be considered.

Salary: Circa £32,000 DOE
