Skilled Gardener required

Our client is a family-run business offering a complete turnkey design, build and high-end garden care service.  Their portfolio ranges from residential gardens to high-end commercial properties.  Services offerings include design and build of nationwide projects as well as regular creative care and maintenance on local sites.  The successful candidate will carry out regular visits to existing clients; managing their gardens while working to ensure consistently high standards in line with the company ethics.  This continually growing company actively makes use of your relevant skill set and offers real development potential into new roles and directions within the company.

Whilst the new gardener will work alongside a friendly team at times, a large proportion will be spent working alone and as such, excellent time management skills and experience of managing all aspects of garden care are required.  This will include the safe operation and basic maintenance of garden machinery, problem solving and planning your workload on a daily basis.

The successful candidate must primarily have good horticultural knowledge and previous experience in a similar role, i.e. a position of responsibility and general garden care on private properties.  Candidates must be flexible, able to multi-task and to manage clients’ expectations with a positive attitude.  This will be a busy role which requires good attention to detail, an ability to deliver excellent customer service and to work well alone or within a strong team where necessary.

A full clean driving licence and access to your own transport is essential for travel to and from work (a company van and tools are provided for client visits).  Applicants must have experience with a range of garden machinery and tools (hedge cutters, mowers, strimmers, blowers etc.), be physically fit, with strong plant knowledge being an essential requirement.

If required, shared accommodation is available in the farmhouse at £400/month with all bills and internet etc. included.  This position is therefore open to candidates currently living outside commutable areas, as well as to candidates already living locally.
