Junior Gardener required

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Under Gardener to work alongside a Head Gardener on a stunning 550 acre private estate near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire with 7 acres of formal gardens.

The new Under Gardener will work under the direction of the Head Gardener but must be able to work alone when required. Duties will include weeding, digging, hedge cutting, rose pruning, mowing and a wide range of other horticultural duties as directed by the Head Gardener.

Applicants should have good plant knowledge and be able to demonstrate an efficient and practical approach to their work. Good physical fitness is required as the position will be physically demanding at times.

Applicants must be a passionate gardener with a genuine interest in horticulture, with a desire to learn, improve on their existing gardening knowledge and they must be self-motivated.

Desirable

• RHS Level 2 or above
• Spraying Certified (PA1 / PA6)
• Chainsaw Certified

Preferred

• Prior experience on a Private Estate

Essential

• Full Driving Licence
• Passion for horticulture
