A qualified and experienced Head Gardener is sought at a stunning family run Estate in West Dorset on a full time and permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and knowledgeable Head Gardener to manage, maintain and enhance a private Garden to the highest possible standards.
The picturesque 50-acre Gardens are filled with formal lawns, borders, walled vegetable garden as well as woodland and arboretum, pleasure grounds, lakes and valley garden all nestled within the Dorset countryside.
This role is an exciting opportunity to manage and work alongside an existing small and enthusiastic team to continue the development and maintenance of the Estates stunning grounds and gardens and together with the exiting assistant head gardener be responsible for these private gardens. The Head Gardener will be responsible for the management and care of the gardens, leading and working with the exiting team to ensure the Gardens continue to flourish.
This rare opportunity will suit an experienced, hands-on and qualified horticulturist with excellent attention to detail. Applicants should be passionate, energetic and experienced professionals with an ability to lead. Suitable applicants will ideally possess academic horticultural qualifications and experience in horticulturally diverse gardens, excellent plant and tree identification and management skills are essential. Good physical fitness is required due to the demands of the job. A knowledge of Health and Safety is desired. Spraying and chainsaw certificates are preferred but not essential.
This Head Gardener position would suit and experienced and passionate Head Gardener who can commit to the maintenance and development of the gardens and grounds and works well as part of a team. A passion for biodiversity, team working, assisting with growing fruit, vegetables and flowers and always taking into consideration the needs and requirements of the Family.
