An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Gardener to be responsible for maintaining and developing a beautiful 3-acre private garden in Wiltshire. This part-time role, working 3 or 4 days per week with 8-hour working days, would suit a knowledgeable and enthusiastic horticulturist who enjoys working in a peaceful private garden environment and takes pride in their work.

The garden features a wonderful mix of formal and productive areas, including a traditional walled vegetable garden, box and yew hedging, large fruit cage, greenhouses, climbing and shrub roses, herbaceous borders, wildlife pond, rill and expansive lawn areas. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining these varied garden spaces, ensuring they remain healthy, attractive and well-presented throughout the year.

Working alongside the owners, the Gardener will assist with the ongoing maintenance and development of the garden, carrying out a broad range of seasonal horticultural tasks. Responsibilities will include planting and maintaining herbaceous borders, caring for roses, pruning shrubs, managing lawns, maintaining hedges, propagating plants from seed and cuttings, assisting with greenhouse work and supporting the production of fruit and vegetables for the household.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a private garden, estate garden or country house garden and will possess practical gardening skills and good all-round plant knowledge. A keen interest in plants, propagation and productive gardening is ideal, together with the ability to work carefully and independently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

A recognised horticultural qualification such as RHS, City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent would be advantageous, although practical experience and a genuine passion for horticulture will be highly valued. The owners are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and keen to contribute ideas and help enhance the garden over time. A full clean driving licence is desirable and candidates holding relevant chainsaw qualifications such as CS30/31 would also be advantageous.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a passionate Gardener seeking a part-time position within a beautiful private garden in Wiltshire, offering the chance to work across a diverse range of horticultural areas and contribute to the ongoing development of a much-loved garden.

Working Hours can be 3 or 4 working days per week during weekdays.
