Senior Gardener
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Gardener with the enthusiasm for maintaining a beautiful estate in the grounds of a Grade I Listed Elizabethan private property; to a high standard, based near Solihull. The position is full time, permanent and would suit a friendly and knowledgeable all rounded gardener with experience at senior level.
The estate runs to 17 acres, comprising 5 acres of formal gardens and lawns, topiary garden, herbaceous borders, ornamental and natural ponds, yew hedging, orchard, fruit cage and vegetable plot. The remaining 12 acres has a mixture of new and mature woodland, large natural pond, wildflower area and parkland.
The candidate should have good all-round horticultural knowledge, high working standards and be able to work using their own initiative both as part of a team and individually. Horticultural qualifications along with a chainsaw and PA1/PA6 spraying certificates would be very desirable. A clean full driving licence is required.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a highly enthusiastic and motivated gardener to join a small team where the successful candidate would be overseeing one other team member. Routine tasks will include grass cutting, weeding, hedge cutting, planting, strimming, pruning (fruit and roses) and propagation. Other tasks that maybe required to be undertaken as part of the estate are gutter clearance, snow clearance and fence maintenance.
Working days are Monday to Friday, with some flexibility on working hours. Occasional weekend maybe required during holiday season to cover watering duties.

SALARY: Up to £28,000 DOE
