Senior Gardener required

We are seeking an experienced, motivated Senior Gardener for our beautiful, organic wildlife friendly garden and estate in North Oxfordshire.

The successful applicant would be part of a small team, but the will have sole responsibility, with an assistant/trainee, for the Ornamental Gardens and the vegetable and soft fruit gardens, but also work with the team on larger projects when necessary.

The property comprises;

• Ornamental flowers borders
• Small vegetable and soft fruit gardens
• Mature orchard
• 18 acre wildflower meadow
• Wetland
• Lake
• 20 acre fallow pasture
• Small apiary

We work using organic principles and always consider the impact on wildlife while working trying to balance design, aesthetics and nature!

Essential criteria;

• Comprehensive knowledge/ experience in organic vegetable growing and ornamental border management.
• Good communication skills, as will be working with the owners on design and planning and interaction with the team.
• Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in all seasons.
• An interest in ecology, wildlife/ wildflower conservation.
• Good knowledge in the use and maintenance of relevant machinery.

On completion of a three month probationary period, we are offering a full time, permanent position with a competitive salary and possibly accommodation if necessary.

£25,000- £26,000 per annum dependent on experience and accommodation.
