Junior Gardener Required
The successful candidate will work on formal grounds of the estate, comprising of approximately 10 acres as well as 30 acres of parkland. The formal gardens are made up of different areas including a walled garden lined with long borders of mixed planting, a croquet lawn, rose beds, extensive lawn with an orchard and mature trees, a pond area with ornamental planting and various borders planted with shrubs and perennials.
Applicants for the Junior Gardener role should have a sound working knowledge of plants and hold a horticultural qualification (RHS level 2). You will be working under the estate manager and head gardener. There is also an assistant groundsman.
Responsibilities include all aspects of garden maintenance such as weeding, dead heading, pruning, mowing, leaf clearing, tending to pond, watering, hedge trimming, mulching, planting and replanting in borders and pots and maintaining pathways.
Working hours consist of 40 hours per week with flexibility required and appreciated. Start date April but flexible.
