Head Gardener
Extensively developed, 200 year old gardens, seeks long term experienced head gardener.
This opportunity is a rare find- as the gardens are not shown to the public and you will not be responsible in managing a team – you can simply be out in the gardens, doing what you enjoy.
The role would suit someone who is a pro at topiary shaping, hedge trimming, rose care and horticulture. There is also an opportunity to develop a kitchen garden and further planting ideas, in the coming seasons.
The estate has an interesting history and has never really met a sole garden ‘keeper’, in a 200 something years (with most of the maintenance long outsourced to individual companies). And, with the estate now developed and modernised, it is ready for a head gardener to maintain all seasons and all year round.
The position is available as part time (to maintain the estate) or as full time, with room to develop the estate further. The employers will have a discussion with each candidate about their personal preference, baring in mind skill, experience and rapport.
