Gardener
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gardener with the enthusiasm for maintaining an historic and beautiful garden to a high standard. The position is full time, permanent position on our estate in Stow on the Wold and would suit a friendly and knowledgeable all rounded gardener that holds experience in maintaining gardens to an incredibly high standard.
The garden extends to just over 22 acres and includes a working Walled Garden, Greenhouses, Plant nursery, Formal lawns, Arboretum, Rose Garden, Formal gardens, Hot borders, Stream Gardens, Woodland Gardens, Topiary, Rock Garden and Heather Garden.
This is an exciting time to join the gardens team as we are about to start on a program of improvements to the gardens. We have recently restored the walled kitchen garden back to a productive garden.
You will work closely with the Head Gardener to maintain the garden to a high horticultural standard. He / She will be responsible for the general maintenance of the garden such as the mowing, weeding, hedge cutting as well as maintain the borders to the highest possible standards.
A driving licence is required due to the rural location of the property.
You Must be organised and enjoy working to a high standard. With the ability to operate a range of garden machinery.
The position would suit a gardener with a real passion for horticulture and has good attention to detail. He / She will be hands-on, physically fit, work in all weathers and have the willingness to continue to grow as a horticulturalist.
