Gardener
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Gardener with drive and enthusiasm to maintain the grounds and gardens of a beautiful private property close to Beaminster in Dorset. The position is full time and permanent.
The 5 acre garden surrounding the house consists of lawns, stunning shrub borders, wild meadows, a woodland garden and South facing terraces.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of the gardens i.e. striming, weeding, pruning, leaf blowing, hedge cutting, and lawn care to a high standard. The grounds also have 60 acres of pasture and woodland that at times require the laying of new fence posts. The Gardener will also be responsible for the safe operation of the garden machinery e.g. tractors lawnmowers, chainsaws. There are two other properties on the estate that the owners may occasionally need assistance with, maintaining the gardens.
This role would suit a hands-on and driven gardener with a well rounded skill set. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and confident working in a sole position.
We would expect the gardener to have good plant knowledge and experience and knowledge of growing vegetables would be advantageous. Tickets such as chainsaw and spray or the willingness to acquire is important as training can be arranged.
A driving licence is essential for the role and own transport due to the location of the property being just outside of the town.
