A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Gardener to join a stunning private estate in Buckinghamshire. This role is ideal for candidates who have recently completed horticultural training, have some hands-on gardening experience, or are eager to develop their skills further. The estate provides excellent opportunities for growth, with training and support to help build a successful career in private estate gardening.

The traditional English estate comprises of 5-acres of formal gardens which are made up of multiple areas with mixed beds and borders, extensive formal lawns encompassed by tropical plants, an orchard featuring fruit trees, a kitchen garden, mature and young trees and formal hedges. The garden is part of a 50-acre estate which surrounds the 19th century, grade Ⅱ listed property.

Within the grounds are numerous moats and a lake, where the occasional clearing of debris will be required. The client currently works with a local farmer for any sizeable works such as large trees and extensive mowing of lawns however, the successful candidate will need to be comfortable with working at heights and in the management of any external contractors.

Flexibility is important as driving duties will be required and as such, a full UK driving license is essential with a trailer license being desirable.

It is important that applicants are enthusiastic and self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative. Spraying certification and chainsaw licenses are desired for this position, however for the successful candidate training can be provided once proven successful in the role.

Applicants must be willing to learn and develop practical gardening skills, including the use and basic maintenance of a range of garden machinery. Training will be provided, but any prior experience such as tractors would be an advantage.

If required, accommodation may be available for the successful applicant as part of a package. It is a one-bedroom flat that would ideally suit someone single. Utility bills and council tax to covered by the employer. Additional duties for the live in position include dog walking & sitting.

For this position, the successful candidate will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement at the client’s request.
