Experienced Gardener
A creative and passionate Experienced Gardener is sought for a private garden near Woking, Surrey. This exciting role offers the opportunity to take full responsibility for the ongoing development of a well-established garden, working closely with the property owners to enhance the landscape. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas, share their horticultural expertise, and ensure the gardens are nurtured to the highest standards.
The property is surrounded by seven acres of gardens in total, of which three acres are laid to lawns, beds, borders, yew hedging and a pond. There is also a tennis court, swimming pool, a variety of mature trees and the remaining land is grazing fields. The newly established greenhouse is now ready for a passionate gardener to bring it to life. This is a fantastic opportunity to cultivate a thriving space, implementing new planting ideas and making full use of its potential to enhance the gardens.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and experienced gardener who thrives on bringing gardens to life. We’re looking for a self-motivated individual with strong plant knowledge, capable of nurturing the existing garden structure to a high horticultural standard while also designing and implementing new projects to enhance its beauty over time. There is plenty of scope for creative input, and additional responsibilities may include swimming pool maintenance and assisting with managing onsite contractors.
The Experienced Gardener will be organised, plan and prioritise workload and work autonomously, he or she will also manage the additional help. Applicants will ideally hold a horticultural qualification, excellent plant knowledge and previous relevant experience.
Chainsaw certificates and PA1/PA6 spray certificates would be an advantage. Ability to operate a range of garden machinery and good craft skills are desirable and a full UK driving licence is essential.
SALARY: £35,000 DOE
