An exciting opportunity has opened at a private house a few miles south of Newbury. We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our friendly, experienced garden team. Relevant experience/course certification would be an advantage; however not essential as full training can be given. We are seeking a candidate with positivity, drive and solid determination to work hard and improve the gardens to a high standard. This role will demand a high level of fitness.

 Your initial areas of work will be lawn care, formal hedge cutting, mixed border tasks, flower meadow management, woodland maintenance, and general estate duties. There will also be opportunities to gain experience in plant propagation, greenhouse work, kitchen garden tasks, cutting garden tasks, animal husbandry, orchard work, and floristry.  Given the right levels of enthusiasm for these subjects, training in these areas will also be given in due course. You MUST be prepared to work outside in all weathers and in all seasons. You should always approach this prospect with good humour.

 You should have a full, and preferably clean driving licence and have reliable personal transport due to the rural location of the site. Any appointment will be subject to a DBS check prior to being employed. Limited weekend work will be required on occasion.

Chainsaw Cross cut and small felling (0039-20 (formerly CS30), 0039-21 (formerly CS31))

Pesticide application (PA1, PA6)

Tractor (0014-31 Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Tractor Driving and Related Operations)

Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE & Qualifications

Working Mon-Fri – 8am to 4.30am
