Gardener – Live In

Gardener required for beautiful garden in the heart of the Donheads, nr Shaftesbury in Dorset.

The garden has mixed borders, a walled garden, large pond, formal lawns and meadows.

The roles of the Gardener will include day to day management of the garden including tasks like, weeding, planting, mowing, strimming and watering.

A  good understanding of how to manage a flower garden would be useful.

The garden has a small mature orchard, shrubs and a large collection of roses – and a basic understanding of pruning would also be desirable. 

The Gardener role will include organising plants from the greenhouse to the house when the owner is in residence.

There is also a tennis court and a swimming pool (that is mostly managed by the house team) but these might need the Gardener’s help occasionally. 

Candidates must be hardworking, have good attention to detail, be tidy and able to work in all weather conditions. You will be part of a small team and will work closely with the owner.

Accommodation: There is a three-bedroom cottage offered with the role in the village offered with the post.

Salary: Circa £30,000 negotiable depending on experience.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm (1 Hour for lunch)
