Experienced Sole Gardener required
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self motivated, experienced and qualified sole gardener to look after a 6 acre mature garden near Henley-on-Thames.
The candidate needs to plan and execute the annual calendar for a English country garden that compromises herbaceous borders, rose gardens, hedges, vegetables, cut flowers and trees. Ability to propagate, prune, pest control and compost management are all essential skills.
The ideal candidate will have a clean driving license, have a successful track record as a sole gardener, love dogs, be punctual and have a can-do positive attitude to integrate with a happy team.
Applicants will need to have a minimum level 2 horticultural qualification for the role, spray certificates (PA1 and PA6) and chainsaw certificate would also be an advantage. Excellent plant knowledge coupled together with strong technical skills, experience of thinning/renovating mature shrubs and pest and disease knowledge would be ideal. The applicant will need to be able to communicate well with visiting contractors, for example the lawn maintenance contractor to ensure timely, high quality lawn care.
Full time, live out, Circa £36,000 DOE
