A part time vacancy has become available for a dedicated and knowledgeable gardener to assist with the maintenance and ongoing development within the gardens of a stunning coastal, boutique hotel based in East Sussex.
From their luxury rooms, guests can enjoy direct access to the hotel’s serene coastal gardens and outdoor spaces which boast native plants for guests to enjoy and relax amongst. The shingled garden features wild meadow-style beds that snake around the garden, a vast array of potted plants scattered around the exterior of the hotel that provides a naturalistic feeling throughout. This is a theme that carries itself through the outdoor terrace with natural grasses and climbers through to the hotel’s interior, where plants play a crucial role in the hotels theming with wonderful floral displays throughout.
This is an exciting phase in the hotels story, with the gardens becoming a main focus for the foreseeable future. Alongside this role the owner is also looking to recruit a new Head Gardener for the gardens, as well as a newly acquired property nearby which is soon to become a second luxury hotel. The new property comes with approximately 1-acre of land which has been dedicated to the new garden, which at this stage is a blank canvas. The part time gardener will have the opportunity to become part of the journey and work under the new Head Gardener in the creation and installation of the new gardens should they so wish.
The Gardener will play a crucial role in ensuring that the gardens, outdoor areas and indoor plants are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing so visitors can fully immerse themselves in the picturesque and relaxing atmosphere. The role will involve regular maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, weeding and watering to keep all planting flourishing and outdoor spaces looking pristine all year round. Candidates will ensure the health and vitality of all plants, shrubs and trees in the gardens by monitoring their growth, identifying diseases or pests and providing appropriate care. The Gardener will ideally hold a horticultural qualification with good plant knowledge and experience working with plants within coastal environments, as well as competency using a wide range of garden machinery.
DAY RATE: £120 Per Day – 25 Hours Per Week (Live Out)
