Head Gardener
A vacancy has arisen for a head gardener to work in the formal and informal gardens of a Grade 1 Listed property situated in North Hampshire. The garden is open to the public at certain times of the year.
The job involves being part of the planning and execution of a new area of the grounds, working closely with the employer. This design will need to be sensitive to the environment.
The successful candidate will be required to work with and manage a team totalling 3, plus contractors when required. A good knowledge of ornamental plants and trees as well as vegetable and fruit growing are required. PA1 / PA6 spraying certificates are essential, and chainsaw qualifications desirable. The candidate must have a full driving licence as the gardens are in a rural location.
This is a full time (40 hours / week) permanent position. Accommodation can be provided. The post requires a person who can supervise a team and use their initiative.
