Gardener
Micklefield Hall is a 350 acre estate and luxury wedding venue in Hertfordshire. It is a mix of parkland, grazing fields, woodland and mature gardens. We are looking for a gardener to join our existing team, guided by our Estate Manager. Your duties will include (but not limited to):
- Maintaining our mature gardens
- Weeding the flower beds
- Planting schemes & brainstorming ideas
- Mowing & lawn maintenance
- Pond maintenance
- Tree management
The grounds & garden are hugely important to the success of the wedding business so it is important that the team is cohesive and all work together to make it brilliant.
You should be able to operate garden machines and mowers with confidence, and the ideal candidate should have good experience/qualifications.
Existing knowledge and solid interest in horticulture is important in this role.
You will need to be:
- a self-starter,
- able to use your initiative
- happy to work alone or as a team
- capable of problem solving
- have excellent attention to detail.
Training and development will be provided. Salary will depend on experience and prior qualifications achieved.
Monday – Friday, 8am-4.30pm
20 days holiday (+ bank holidays)
Salary starts from £25,000 per annum (depending on experience)
