Head Gardener

Head Gardener required.

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced gardener has arisen close to St Andrews in Fife. This role will suit a hands-on professional gardener with proven experience managing a small team and taking responsibility for the maintenance and development of an extensive garden to a high standard.

The gardens at Teasses cover sixty acres and have undergone extensive development over the last twenty years. In recent years the gardens have opened to the public for events, regular gardening openings and weddings. The garden was awarded RHS Partnership in 2022.

The Head Gardener will work closely with the Estate Factor to develop the garden business to sustain the development and maintenance of the garden for generations to come.

The successful candidate will manage a small team and must hold a current, clean UK driving Licence, PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates, CS30/CS31 chainsaw certificates and have proven experience in maintaining a garden to a very high standard.

The successful candidate will have excellent plant knowledge, be able to lead tours of the garden and interact with the public, will have proven experience of leading a team of gardeners and will have at least three years of professional gardening experience. You will have a passion for horticulture, an interest in the history of the estate and future developments.

This role would suit someone looking for a long-term position with a passion to maintain and develop a very special garden and a view to generate income to support the long-term sustainability of the garden.

SALARY: Up to £30,000
LOCATION: FIFE, SCOTLAND
