As a key member of our growing Grounds team, you’ll be based at Eccle Riggs Hall, a historic 40-acre estate with extensive gardens on the edge of Broughton-in-Furness.

As a key member of our growing Grounds team, you’ll be based at Eccle Riggs Hall, a historic 40-acre estate with extensive gardens on the edge of Broughton-in-Furness.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll join a team of 17 permanent gardeners / grounds specialists who work together to look after our woodlands, parklands and private gardens across multiple properties. To be a real asset to the team, you’ll be willing to get stuck in and do whatever is necessary to ensure our grounds and gardens look lovely all year round. This will include using ride-on mowers, chainsaws, sprayers and other grounds equipment safely — training will be provided. Although not necessary, some plant knowledge will be a bonus to ensure our diverse gardens always look their best.

Given our location and the nature of the role, a driving licence is essential for this full-time role.

Responsibilities
As part of this customer-focused team you’ll:
- Maintain and improve formal and informal gardens / grounds
- Work to a schedule of grass cutting and vegetation management
- Undertake spraying and pest control
- Maintain and install drainage
- Be comfortable with woodland management
- Maintain and care for tools and equipment
- Carry out routine gardens and grounds maintenance
