An exceptional opportunity has arisen for up to two experienced and highly skilled  Estate Gardeners to join a dedicated and motivated team maintaining the stunning formal gardens of a prestigious family-owned estate. The estate features beautifully designed landscapes, including intricate topiary, flourishing rose gardens, and vibrant herbaceous borders. Newly developed landscapes are also part of the estate, offering an exciting chance to contribute to their ongoing care and refinement.

The Estate Gardeners will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of grounds and garden maintenance, ensuring the estate is presented to an impeccable standard throughout the year. Key duties include the operation and maintenance of machinery such as ride-on mowers, strimmer’s, blowers, and hedge cutters. Regular upkeep of hand tools and equipment will also be required to ensure all resources remain in excellent working condition. Successful candidates will liaise with external contractors and managers as needed to ensure smooth operations and assist in coordinating various tasks across the estate. Effective management of irrigation systems will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and vitality of the estate’s plants and lawns.

Candidates should have a comprehensive knowledge of estate gardening, particularly in formal settings, and hold a formal horticultural qualification. PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates are required, along with proven experience working with irrigation systems. Applicants must demonstrate strong communication skills, a positive and proactive attitude, and an organised, methodical approach to work, whether working independently or as part of a team. Experience in maintaining newly developed landscapes would be advantageous, and a full UK driving licence is essential.

These are full-time positions, with working hours from 08:00 to 16:00. The role involves a five-day working week, which may include weekends as part of a rota. Annual leave entitlement is 28 days, with no additional entitlement to public holidays. The salary offered is up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, with a discretionary annual bonus following a successful probationary period.

An enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by the employer, and the signing of a Non-Disclosure Agreement are required as part of the employment terms.
