An artisan floristry company is looking for a skilled full-time florist for its North Oxfordshire location. This is a lovely role for someone passionate in floristry, and who is experienced with contract flowers, operations and the associated demands of seasonal floral installations.

A key part of this role is managing our main contract client, for which deliveries run twice weekly over the course of the year. The candidate will be familiar with working within set budget parameters, with the flexibility of delivering and installing outside of ‘regular’ working hours. The role involves designing and handcrafting high-quality floral arrangements, bouquets and installations that align with the client brief and the established aesthetic, always aiming to deliver something distinctive and memorable.

The floristry team at the North Oxfordshire base is small, encompassing a head grower, supported by a core freelance team. The full-time florist will work closely with the head grower in preparation of providing exceptional arrangements – with oversight of flower care and conditioning processes being essential to guarantee quality and longevity. We use organic produce from our grounds during the season, working as sustainably as possible. This role will also have the added opportunity to learn about organic cut flower production, and undertake activities such as maintenance, propagation, planting, pruning, staking, weeding, foraging, harvesting, and conditioning. For the remainder of the year, we source externally from a couple of preferred suppliers.

The full-time florist must work well autonomously and be comfortable managing contract operations independently. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves frequent, time-sensitive client liaison both in person and by email.

The role requires at least three years’ experience within a floristry business environment, with a solid understanding of floral design trends and colour palettes.

Strong computer proficiency is essential, as there are many elements of the role which are supported by this; comprehensive understanding of working with excel and its’ formulae to compile budgets, and the capability of creating Keynote visual briefs for internal and external review, are essential.

The candidate will need to capture and digitally store (via Dropbox) stills and video footage of the floristry business ‘in motion’ and will have a good understanding of social media platforms (mainly Instagram). Setting up photoshoots and having a working knowledge of photography equipment is highly beneficial.

Applicants must be exceptionally well organised, responsible and demonstrate a positive, professional attitude towards their work. Excellent communication skills are crucial, with the ability to collaborate effectively and provide guidance and support as needed. As this is primarily a manual and physical role, a strong work ethic and willingness to undertake practical tasks are essential.

A flexible approach to working hours is required. Bi-weekly deliveries require a 05:00 start, and candidates will be expected to fulfil at least one of these weekly – plus any additional visits to the contract client needed to maintain and refresh installations. Seasonal installs are organised during evening out-of-hours, which can start at 9pm.

A full, clean UK driving licence is required, as the successful candidate will need to drive the business van regularly.
