Sole Gardener (live-out) required

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, creative and committed gardener to maintain and further enhance an English country garden situated near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

The 6-acre garden comprises a walled garden together with green house, formal lawns, fruit trees, vegetable patch, established roses, herbaceous borders and woodland.  The garden contains extensive hedges of yew, beech and box.  The garden is mature and has been professionally designed and maintained.

The Sole Gardener will have a hands-on role in the daily care and continuous development of the garden. He / She will be someone who takes pride in their work and will maintain the garden to a very high horticultural standard. Applicants will need to have a minimum level 2 horticultural qualification for the role, spray certificates (PA1 and PA6) and chainsaw certificate would also be an advantage. Excellent plant knowledge coupled together with strong technical skills, propagation, experience of thinning/renovating mature shrubs and pest and disease knowledge would be ideal.
