Witley Park Estate

A Historic 600 Acre Estate in Surrey has an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Gardener to join an established team.

The formal gardens extend to 10 acres, with wider estate planting and other areas to maintain. The estate has plenty going on with Lakes, parkland, wildflower meadows, woodland, walled kitchen garden, Glasshouse, Polytunnel and seasonal bedding. with a wide range of topiary, hedging, parterre and fine lawns all to maintain.

The candidate should be confident to delegate and lead by example, working closely with Deputy Head Gardener, this hands-on role will be maintaining and developing overall planting and effective ways of working. the senior gardener is an Integral part of the team supporting junior staff learning, ongoing training and development and liaising across departments.

This is a great opportunity for an open minded, enthusiastic, hardworking, excellent communicator with a wide skill base looking for a supported role within an establishing garden and friendly team. Must have a good sense of humour! The ideal candidate should have 5+ years’ experience in amenity horticulture, ideally with previous estate experience, gardening to a very high standard.

Suitable candidates will ideally have formal horticultural qualifications level 2+ and previous estate experience an advantage.

Future training/development potential for the right candidate.

Salary dependent on experience, discretionary bonus, 28 days holiday, staff reward and enrichment days.
