Senior/Experienced Estate Worker
We seek applications from suitable candidates for an interesting and varied role on a beautiful 43 acre estate situated in some of the most beautiful countryside in the Southwest of England. The main house is a former farmhouse which is surrounded by a small garden, pond, lawns and borders. The other areas of the estate consists of woodlands and pastures, flower meadow, paddock, farmland with barns, plus additional woodland with meadow and stream frontage.
Our client seeks someone who is experienced in a range of general gardening and estate work to take sole responsibility for the general upkeep of the garden and surrounding land. Duties will be varied but will include:
- Grass cutting and strimming.
- Hedge trimming.
- Keeping brambles in check.
- Creating and maintaining woodland paths.
- Care and maintenance of garden area.
- Keeping driveways clear.
- Repairs as necessary to perimeter fencing and gates etc.
- Other general odd jobs as required.
Applicants must have reasonable horticultural knowledge and gardening skills, combined with good practical skills within general estate maintenance tasks. You will be hard working, and highly self-motivated, able to plan and organise your own daily and seasonal workload making the most efficient use of your time. You must have a current driving licence and be familiar with the safe use and maintenance of typical garden machinery and tools.
SALARY: Circa £30,000 depending on experience
