A part time vacancy has become available near Guildford in Surrey for an experienced and knowledgeable gardener of this attractive 6 acre formal garden, featuring diverse, creative planting and designed originally by Gertrude Jekyll. The role will be based on a 3-day week, with an average of an 8 hour day.
The mature gardens have numerous features which will need to be maintained and developed by the newly appointed gardener to the very highest of standards including a multitude of borders including herbaceous, a variety of trees, shrubs, formal lawns, glasshouse, and a large vegetable garden. The estate has specialist contractors who handle all aspects of the hedges, tree work and lawn care, leaving the finer horticultural aspects down to the newly appointed gardener.
The owners are seeking an enthusiastic individual, who has demonstrable experience within a similar setting to maintain the stunning gardens to the very highest of standards, year-round on a 3 day per week basis. A Horticultural qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential, alongside the completion of industry related tickets, such as PA1/PA6 spraying. Applicants must take pride in their work, and demonstrate a passion for horticultural, while also being an organised and self-motivated individual.
Working hours will be 8 hours per day, where possible dependent on the season 3 days per week with these to be mutually agreed, however there is high flexibility with this.
SALARY: Circa £20 PH – Negotiable dependent on experience.
