Part Time Gardener required

An experienced gardener is required to join a small estate team, ideally for around 2-3 days a week, predominantly to develop and manage the herbaceous borders further, which are set in the beautiful grounds of a Grade I listed manor house in South Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, hands-on gardener looking for a permanent but flexible part time position. There is complete flexibility on working hours and days of the week. The historic gardens are formed into stunning terraces, leading down to a lake, orchard and bowling green. Wildlife and biodiversity are plentiful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing, evolving and maintaining the formal garden borders and rose garden;
  • Re-designing and implementing any creative and suitable changes to the planting scheme for the long-term development of the formal gardens;
  • Working alongside the outside team.

Candidate Profile

  • Applicants for the role will need to demonstrate first rate knowledge and experience in horticulture;
  • Candidates should have excellent plant knowledge;
  • Preferably hold an RHS level 3 or above qualification but this is not essential if proven hands on experience;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Initiative, as this role will need to take the lead and will not be tightly supervised;
  • Ability to work as part of a small estate team;
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
