Part time Gardener and Housekeeper Couple sought. An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and professional couple to join a private household on a beautiful property located near Banbury, Oxfordshire, on a part time basis – 3 days per week. This dual-role position offers a unique chance to work in a well-maintained property that boasts a mature and diverse garden, set within the picturesque Oxfordshire countryside.

The property comprises a 2-acre garden, including two ponds, an extensive iris collection, mixed beds and borders and a range of fruit and ornamental trees.  A modest kitchen garden provides the household with a range of fruit and vegetables, complemented by a productive greenhouse, several lawns, and a gently flowing stream that adds natural charm to the landscape. The welcoming and passionate owners, who are dedicated plant enthusiasts, are seeking a gardener to take full responsibility for the ongoing care and maintenance of this well-loved garden. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a genuine passion for horticulture and the ability to maintain the garden’s high standards throughout the year.

The ideal Gardener candidate will have a solid foundation in horticulture and the skills required to maintain a high-quality private garden. Responsibilities will include pruning, weeding, planting, lawn care, and general upkeep. Experience with garden machinery is important as the owners have a selection or robot mowers, ride on, walk behind and various garden tools. A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to work independently are key to success in this role. Additional non horticultural duties may be required, such as fixing fences and clearing gutters.

The housekeeper role is also part-time, 3 days per week and the successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the interior of the home, ensuring that it remains welcoming and well-presented at all times. Duties will include general cleaning, laundry, ironing, and some light organisational tasks. The role requires someone who is discreet, trustworthy, and capable of managing their workload efficiently with minimal supervision. The owners have two friendly rescue dogs which will require looking after when the owners travel.

At least one of the couple must hold a full, clean UK driving licence as occasional driving of the owners into Oxford or elsewhere may be required. The working hours for both positions are subject to negotiation but in principle may be three solid days or 24 hours spread over a 5 day week.

The Part time Gardener and Housekeeper Couple positions are offered with a quaint three-bedroom cottage off site (across the road from the main property). Children and pets are welcome. The property owners cover Council Tax, with utility bills covered by the Tenants.

SALARY:  £45,000 + Accommodation
