Gardener
Gardener required
CGP’s a publishing business but our Lake District grounds and gardens (c.200 acres in total) are just as important as our books — so standards are high. Our Estates team is based at Eccle Riggs Hall on the edge of Broughton-in-Furness and we’re looking for flexible and willing gardeners to work across all sites.
We want our grounds and gardens to look lovely all year round so ideally, you’ll be horticulturally trained with impressive plant knowledge. You’ll have a great eye for detail, whether you’re pruning roses, maintaining herbaceous borders, or scything wildflower meadows. You may have relevant qualifications but we’re just as interested in people who take real pride in their work and are qualified by experience.
Who are we looking for?
You’ll take great pride in your work and want to please. Enthusiastic and disciplined in your approach, you’ll also be:
- Reliable, positive and self-motivated
- Driven by providing great customer service
- Flexible — happy to do whatever’s needed
- An effective communicator and a good team player
Given our location and the nature of the role, a driving licence is essential.
Interested?
To apply, email us your CV (and details of your current salary) to recruitment@cgpbooks.co.uk with a covering letter telling us why you’re the right person for the job. Successful candidates will be invited to Eccle Riggs in Broughton for assessment (complete with secateurs!).
Closing date: Monday 17th January 2022
