Experienced Gardener
An experienced gardener required for a mature garden in North Yorkshire, situated close to Harrogate. The beautiful landscape gardens extend to approximately 8 acres and consist of extensive lawns leading to picturesque stream and large pond, tall hedging, mature trees, herbaceous borders, rose garden, an ornamental orchard, a Victorian greenhouse use for propagation and growing tomatoes, as well as a pond. The gardens produce a lot of cut flowers, and is equipped with a wide range of equipment including ride on mowers etc.
The owners of this charming and varied garden are looking for an experienced gardener to manage and maintain their gardens. This is a fantastic opportunity for a horticulturalist with drive and enjoys working to a high standard. The position is open to either 4 days or 5 days per week.
Applicants will have good all-round gardening skills with the ability to work well on their own. You need to be able to carry out all general gardening duties including maintaining the beds and borders, orchard pruning, specialist pruning including various types of roses, lawncare, strimming, hedge cutting (at height), pruning, weeding, and propagation. During the summer months there is additional part time help provided.
Due to its rural location of the property, it is essential that applicants are able to drive and have their own means of transport. You should also be dog friendly.
SALARY: £33,000 for 4 days per week
