Experienced Gardener
A self-motivated and experienced Gardener is sought for a beautiful private estate near Woking, Surrey. The role offers an exciting opportunity to take full responsibility for the maintenance and ongoing development of a well-established garden, working closely with the property owners to ensure the highest horticultural standards are upheld.
The property is surrounded by seven acres of garden in total, of which three acres are laid to lawns, beds, borders, yew hedging and a pond. There is also a tennis court, swimming pool, a variety of mature trees and the remaining land is grazing fields. The newly established greenhouse is now ready for someone to bring it life.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Gardener and would suit a self-starter with detailed plant knowledge, able to maintain the current structure to a high horticultural standard and to design and execute a series of additional projects to enhance the garden over the years. Additional duties may include swimming pool maintenance and assisting with managing contractors onsite.
The Gardener will be organised, plan and prioritise workload and work autonomously, he or she will also manage the additional help. Applicants will ideally hold a horticultural qualification, excellent plant knowledge and previous relevant experience.
Chainsaw certificates and PA1/PA6 spray certificates would be an advantage. Ability to operate a range of garden machinery and good craft skills are desirable and a full UK driving licence is essential.
SALARY: £35,000 DOE (Live out)
