We are seeking an experienced and reliable Gardener to join a dynamic team on a private family estate in Maidenhead, Berkshire. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about horticulture, with a particular focus on managing a productive 3-acre vegetable patch alongside several acres of farmland and beautifully maintained gardens.
This role offers the chance to work hands-on in a varied and rewarding environment, where your expertise will directly contribute to the success and beauty of the estate. There is also the opportunity to live on-site for the right candidate, providing a true estate-living experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the 3-acre vegetable garden, including soil preparation, bed creation, planting, crop rotation, and harvest.
- Manage general estate gardening duties, including planting, pruning, hedge maintenance, and seasonal displays.
- Maintain herbaceous borders, fruit bushes, soft fruit, and ornamental plantings across the property.
- Prepare and apply compost, mulch, and organic soil amendments to promote healthy, productive plants.
- Maintain lawns to a high standard, including mowing, edging, feeding, aeration, and seasonal treatments.
- Work alongside the estate team to ensure the gardens and grounds are consistently presented to the highest standards.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in vegetable growing and horticultural production, ideally on a larger garden, farm, or estate.
- Strong general gardening skills, including lawn care, planting, pruning, weeding, and crop management.
- Confident working independently and capable of planning and prioritising tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail, taking pride in producing high-quality, professional results.
- Friendly, reliable, and adaptable team player with a proactive approach.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm
