An attractive opportunity has arisen for an experienced Gardener to join a small team on a private estate near Liphook, Hampshire.
The 140-acre estate is under the direction of the Estate Manager. The property comprises of beautiful gardens, woodlands, parkland, river, ornamental ponds and paddocks. The 6-acres of formal gardens is at an exciting stage of redevelopment, designed by a talented design team.
The Gardeners role would be to work alongside the design team until the implementation of the gardens are complete, leaving the new garden for the successful applicant to care for and ensure ongoing management to a high level of detail. Once redeveloped, the area will have expansive areas of lawn, mature trees, mixed/herbaceous borders, topiary, river and ponds there is also a kitchen garden that requires redeveloping.
Planting, general pruning of shrubs plants and topiary, lawn care, hedge cutting, ponds and water feature care, weeding and general horticulture duties as they arise.
The position would suit a knowledgeable gardener with previous experience on private estates and or country house gardening, be well versed in the operation of garden machinery i.e. mowers, petrol powered strimmers, blowers, hedge cutters etc. An academic horticulture qualification at RHS level 2, spray certificate (PA1/6) and chain saw licence are desired but are not essential if experience in a similar role can be demonstrated.

Salary is £25,000-£30,000 dependent of experience and is a live out role.
