There are a variety of gardens, both within the estate, but also wider group of properties.
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Gardener to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance and development of our gardens, ensuring they remain beautiful and well-kept throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planting, watering, and pruning flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Maintain garden beds by weeding, mulching, and fertilizing as needed.
- Perform regular inspections to identify and address pest or disease issues promptly.
- Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools safely.
- Assist in designing and implementing garden layouts and landscape plans.
- Collaborate with the head gardener and other team members to execute gardening projects efficiently.
- Ensure gardens, work areas, and storage facilities are maintained to a high standard.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the estate when interacting with visitors and guests.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in gardening or landscaping preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of plants, flowers, and gardening techniques.
- Ability to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for horticulture.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- Experience operating garden machinery desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
